Home School

This program is designed for busy people with busy lives. Margaret will come to your house once a day Monday through Friday and train your dog. We will work on basic obedience, leash walking and any other specific behavioral issues. There is no need for you to be home and Margaret will take the dog outside in their yard or neighborhood. At the end of each week you will have a lesson with Margaret to catch up on everything your dog has learned. You will be given homework to work on over the weekend so your dog is used to listening to you as well. This program has all of the benefits of a board and train but in the dog’s own environment with the benefit of the owner’s involvement throughout the training process.

Private in home LEssons

Lessons are catered to you and your dog’s specific needs. Margaret teaches you how to train your dog in the comfort of your home. Each lesson is 60-90 mins long and scheduled approximately one week apart. The lesson program is completely tailored to your goals and can range between four and ten lessons. During the consultation we can determine how many lessons are right for you and your dog.

Puppy Prodigy

Are you hoping your puppy will turn into the most well behaved family dog? Training starts on the day you bring your puppy home whether you want it to or not! Every interaction you have with your puppy will effect how they will act as an adult dog. Socialization is also a crucial aspect of puppy training and sometimes big box store puppy classes can miss the mark. This puppy training program includes safe and structured socialization field trips as well as private lessons to get you and your puppy off to the perfect start. Success Stories

“Margaret helped us with off leash training for our 2 year old dog and we had a great experience. Prior to training, our dog struggled with listening & staying calm in public spaces where there were lots of distractions. We’re now able to take her off leash camping, hiking, or to a brewery and feel relaxed knowing that she is listening to us and is calm. We frequently get complimented on how well behaved our dog is in public. We would highly recommend Margaret!”

-Keith & Nahka

“Our little Boba has been working with Margaret since he was 3 months old (he is now 8 months), starting with her Puppy Prodigy program and then her Home School program, and he is a better dog because of it. She has been so thoughtful with her training with Boba, making sure it aligns with our goals for him. She helped us work through the early months as first-time dog owners and really listened and offered support when we needed help or just someone to talk to (because raising a puppy is really difficult!). Margaret truly cares about the dogs she trains and the families she works with and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she is. Boba LOVES her so much and is always so excited to see her.”

-Virginia & Boba

“Margaret changed my dog's life. Reese is a rescue and was very anxious and was starting to get territorial. She also randomly lunged at people, trucks and other dogs while out on walks. She is so much calmer now and Margaret gave her some self-confidence she never possessed before. I highly recommend K-9 and Margaret!!”

- Lisa & Reece

“Margaret worked wonders with my pit-bull. In just a few weeks of one-on-one training, he made massive improvements in reducing leash aggression and responding to commands. I'd highly recommend K9 Summit Academy for dog owners who have struggled to make general group training stick or who have energetic, reactive pups like mine.”

-Jeff & Pac Man

“I cannot recommend Margaret enough! She is an incredible dog trainer, she took the time to really understand our full situation down to every last little detail. Our dog was having issues with aggression and we couldn't figure out how to help him with his anxiety. Margaret suggested a training schedule and taught him so much. We now feel comfortable having people in our house again, and has taken so much stress away from us and our dog. We can't thank her enough!”
